It is with a great deal of sadness that we send this information:
Caroline Barnes of “Caroline’s Sewing Room”, in West Branch, lost her husband, Harley, in an accident on Saturday, August 23rd. We are sure that any of you who know Caroline will share with us in sending your condolences. Visitation will begin on Tuesday August 26th from 3-9 at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday August 27th at Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Ogemaw Hills Christian School. Cards may be sent to Caroline Barnes, 3100 W M-55, West Branch MI 48661.

Join us in the fight against Breast Cancer. Quilted Cottage, Corset Shop Intimates & Purple Sage Bead Shop are uniting to sponsor an event to raise money to establish a mammogram scholarship for women in our community needing assistance.
Purchase your flag fabric for $1.00 from any of the 3 shops, embellish it and return it by the last week in September. The flags will hang outside all the shops during the month of October and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the fund. Quilted Cottage will give a Breast Cancer charm to any women who make 10 or more flags.
Janome Club:
Will be Wednesday September 3rd at 5:30. This is a members only meeting.
Membership is free with purchase of new machine from Quilted Cottage or may be purchased for $50.00 per year. (Valued at least $120).
Some of our ladies have expressed an interest in Serger Classes. Please email us at quiltedcottage@att.net if you would like to have a class.
Moda U!!
Registration is now starting for the September thru December Semester. Cost is $20 for the semester and $50 if you wish to pay for a whole year. For September we will be having a speaker (so no need to bring sewing machines, yippee!) Register soon to reserve your place in this prestigious university! The first meeting of the semester will be on Saturday September 20th.

Mary Warner Stone will be repeating her Quilting in the Garden Appliqué class in 4 sessions: September 9th & 23rd and October 14th & 29th. Each 2 week session will be $30.
September 13th is Calendar Girls Meeting at 11:00. Bring whatever you have finished on your project and any fun seasonal ideas through Christmas for show & tell.
Mark your calendars for September 13th for a Scavenger Hunt down the M-46 corridor.
Come explore the 46 corridor (Gratiot Rd), and visit several area shops, all within 25 miles. Each has something for the quilter, knitter and crafter. Start in the morning at Quilted Cottage, Saginaw or in Breckenridge with cider and donuts, then enjoy the day shopping!
To add to the EXCITEMENT of the day each person will participate in a SCAVENGER HUNT. A key word will be displayed in each shop to be filled in on your passport. Once all blanks are filled in, the passports are turned in at the last shop for a GRAND prize drawing to win a Gift certificate package. Passports will list all shop specials along with a 5% discount on lunch and 10% discount on dinner at Spencer’s Rte. 46, Saginaw.
